Folksam recruiting successor to Anders Sundström

Anders Sundström will be stepping down as President and CEO of Folksam as soon as a successor has been appointed in the ongoing recruitment process. The nominations committee of Swedbank has put Anders Sundström forward as Chair of the Swedbank AB Board.

“Folksam is well placed for a new CEO to continue readying the company for the future,” states Nina Jarlbäck, Chair of Folksam Life. “Under Anders Sundström’s leadership, Folksam has consolidated its brand, gained market share in key segments and built up its financial strength.”

“After nine fantastic years as CEO of Folksam, the time has come for me to move on from the chief executive role to a position on a board,” comments Anders Sundström. “I have therefore accepted the nomination to chair Swedbank AB.”

The business of recruiting a new President and CEO is being led by a recruitment team comprising Nina Jarlbäck, Chair of Folksam Life, Wanja Lundby-Wedin, Chair of Folksam General and Sture Nordh, Deputy Chair of Folksam Life.

“We will be employing a recruitment firm to find candidates,” says Nina Jarlbäck. “We are naturally keen to recruit as quickly as possible.”

“I will remain fully committed to my role as CEO of Folksam until a successor has been recruited. We have many exciting initiatives in the pipeline,” concludes Anders Sundström.
